Financial Information Budget and Precept

The Precept is that element of your Council Tax that is paid to Kettering Town Council.

Every year, the Town Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. Look out for reports to the Councils' finance committee and full Council during October-February each year to see how the budget for the next year is progressing.

The precept for 2023/24 is for £400,000, meaning a Band D household pays £23.72 or 45p a week. The agreed precept for 2024/25 is for £490,000, which means a Band D charge of £28.68

The increase is largely to meet the costs of providing new services, including

- town centre planting displays

- a new running event

- investing in a new play area of the Ise

- developing a new Neighbourhood Plan for the central area of town

- support for cultural events and a new Cultural Consortium

as well as meeting inflationary pressures and increasing staff time to accommodate the work required.

This still means the Town Council has one of the lowest parish precepts in North Northamptonshire .

The budget for the Town Council for 2024/5 is below.
