The beach is back in town this summer as Kettering By The Sea returns to the Market Place.

Eco boost for school pond project

Eco boost for school pond project

A project to boost diversity and wildlife by building a new school pond has been completed.

The pond at Southfied School, in Kettering, will be officially opened by the town mayor on Tuesday 4 July.

The project was funded by a grant from Kettering Town Council's Love Wildlife competition which ran earlier in the year.

New food festival comes to Kettering

A brand-new food festival is coming to Kettering this autumn.

The Love Food event will be in Wicksteed Park to celebrate the best in local food and produce.

There will be a huge range of cuisine on offer, both sweet and savoury, and local food and drinks produce made in Northamptonshire.

Mayor of Kettering Cllr Emily Fedorowycz, George White and Michael Thurland from the Windmill Avenue Allotment Society, Kettering Town Councillors Cllr Mark Rowley, Cllr Robin Carter & Stuart O'Mahoney from Make Woodworking

New fencing has been installed at allotments in Kettering to improve security at the site.

The perimeter fencing at the Windmill Avenue site has been replaced at a cost of £15,000.

Kettering Town Council, which owns the site, has funded the project, which saw 100m of fence replaced, to increase security for residents and site users.

Midsummer Market will celebrate the summer solstice

The longest evening of the year is being celebrated in Kettering with a special charity market.

Town lottery raises thousands for good causes

Town lottery raises thousands for good causes

Kettering Town Lottery has been running for a year and raised thousands of pounds for local good causes.

So far, the lottery has seen 71 local winners of £5, £10 and £20 prizes – with the £25,000 jackpot still to claim.

The lottery has raised £3,500 in its firs year, with £2,600 spent on good causes already.

New device to stop speeding in town

Speed Warning Device on Pytchely Road with Cllrs Eve Edwards, Maggie Don and Scott Edwards

A new speeding device has been installed in Kettering to warn drives who are going too fast.

The sign has been put up on Pytchley Road to help calm traffic in the area.

Kettering Town Council has installed the device, which cost £4,000 and runs on solar power.

The device replaces a camera which used to be on the road before parking bays were added.

Bands in the Park returns to Kettering this year with a programme of summer entertainment.
