Environment focus for town meeting

Kettering Town Meeting Our Environment picture

Groups who are helping the environment in Kettering are being asked to come and talk at a public meeting.

Kettering Town Council organises four Town Meetings a year and February's theme will be "our environment".

Organisations are being invited to come and discuss what they are doing to improve sustainability and the environment in the town and any future projects they would like help or support with.

Chair of the Town Meetings, Mayor of Kettering Cllr Keli Watts, said: "The purpose of the Town Meetings is to look at how we can improve Kettering and build links between organisations.

"There is so much hard work happening out there, and we want to get a shared picture of what is happening, bring people together and work out what can be done to improve things in the future."

Each group will have a 5-minute slot in which to present their projects, with a chance for discussions throughout the meeting.

The meeting will be held at 7pm on Wednesday 22 February in the Toller Church Rooms, Meeting Lane, and is open to the public.

Groups wishing to get involved can get in touch with Martin Hammond, Town Clerk, by emailing clerk@ketteringtowncouncil.gov.uk or ringing 01536 697490.
