Shout out for local musicians to play in the park

MUSICIANS are being sought to play in outdoor performances in Kettering this summer.

Kettering Town Council is looking for local bands, groups, choirs and musicians to perform at the popular Bands in the Park Sunday afternoon events.

Performances will take place in Rockingham Road Pleasure Park bandstand and this year the council is looking to expand its programme. As well as featuring traditional brass bands, the programme is looking to diversify into different types of musical offerings.

The council is also hoping to run a couple of events in the town centre, in addition to the bandstand performances.

Kettering Town Councillor Craig Skinner said: "We are really pleased to be bringing back music to the park this summer as part of our season of events.

"The concerts are always really popular and we are looking to put on even more events this summer, with a wider range of bands. If you fancy performing in the bandstand this year, please get in touch with us."

The programme will see a live band performing on Sunday afternoons from June to September – and the events are free for everyone to enjoy.

Anyone wishing to perform at the event can contact Deputy Town Clerk Emma Dezelu. Bands will need to have their own public liability insurance to be eligible to perform.
