Financial Information Budget and Precept
The Precept is that element of your Council Tax that is paid to Kettering Town Council.
Every year, the Town Council draws up budgets and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. Look out for reports to the Councils' finance committee and full Council during October-February each year to see how the budget for the next year is progressing.
The precept for 2022/23 was for £325,000, meaning that a band D household paid £19.56 in the year year - or 38p a week.
The precept for 2023/24 is for £400,000, meaning a Band D household will pay £23.72 or 45p a week. . The increase is largely to meet the costs of providing more events, principally those no longer being provided by North Northamptonshire Council.
This still means the Town Council has one of the lowest parish precepts in North Northamptonshire .

Budget Consultation 2023/24
We have consulted on our proposed budget for next year, on the proposed precept and on the corporate plan that guides the budget.
We asked for feedback on our ideas by Tuesday 6 December 2022, ahead of making a final decision at the Full Council meeting on Wednesday 18 January 2023.
Here are the responses from our consultation.
