Make a noise to support Marathon Mayor

Kettering's Mayor is urging people to come out and cheer on the runners in a new race for the town.

Councillor Craig Skinner, who will be running the 13.1 miles himself, is inviting people to line the route and make a noise for the runners.

Fencing improvements for town allotments

New fencing is being installed at allotments in Kettering to improve security at the site.

The fencing at Northfield Avenue site has been replaced by Kettering Town Council.

The council owns the site and has funded the £6,000 project, which saw 140m of fence replaced as well as the main site gate, to increase security for residents and site users.

Holocaust Memorial Day in Kettering

Victims of the holocaust will be remembered in Kettering this year as part of Holocaust Memorial Day.

The event will take place in the Manor House Gardens, off Sheep Street, at 2pm on Monday 27 January 2025.

Hosted by the Mayor of Kettering, Cllr Craig Skinner, the event consists of a short, non-denominational service of remembrance for victims of genocide worldwide including current conflicts.

Winners announced for Christmas tree festival

The winner of Kettering's first-ever Christmas tree festival has been announced, with William Street Community Garden taking the title.

They were one of 20 local groups who decorated trees for the festive season in St Andrew's Church.

The trees, donated by Ise Garden Centre, were installed in the church throughout the Christmas period, with hundreds of people coming to look at the decorations.

Heating grants boost for elderly people

Heating grants boost for elderly people

Fuel grants are now being paid out to elderly people in Kettering to help with heating bills this winter.

There were 290 successful applications for the fuel payments which are now being made by Kettering Town Council, totalling £17,400.
