Special out of hours advice sessions are being held for people who need help with housing, debt and benefits problems.

The appointments are being organised by charity Accommodation Concern to help more people access their services in Kettering.

They are designed for anyone who cannot get to the help during the day – they may be working full time and struggling with debt or housing issues.

Heating grants boost for elderly people

Fuel grants have been paid out to elderly people in Kettering to help with heating bills this year.

Kettering Town Council paid out 300 successful applications for payments – an increase of nearly 50% on last year.

Successful applicants have received a payment of £68 each, up from £60 last year, and were available to people living in Kettering and Barton Seagrave.

Friends get cash to spruce up park

Hundreds of spring-flowering bulbs are being planted in a town park thanks to a Kettering Town Council grant.

The friends of Rockingham Road Pleasure Park have been awarded £1,000 by Kettering Town Council to improve the park.

The group has planted a mixture of bulbs and plants including daffodils, crocus, snowdrops, English bluebells and foxgloves.

If you're having a real Christmas Tree this year and you live in one of the postcodes below why not get your festive Tree recycled by Cransley Hospice for a great cause?

The elves will be collecting on January 13 to 15 from: NN8, NN9, NN10, NN14, NN15, NN16, NN29 7, and surrounding villages between 7am and 2pm.

Road Closures for Remembrance Sunday

There will be a temporary road closure for Kettering's Remembrance parade on Sunday 13 November 2022.

The closure will affect the following roads between 1pm to 5pm:
Market Street
Market Place
Sheep Street

These stretches of road will be marshalled by One Way Traffic Management and emergency access will be enabled during this time.
